If you have a lot to accomplish in a short period of time, adding ice breakers into the schedule can actually help you accomplish more. Ice Breakers have the unique ability to build familiarity with new surroundings, to create new connections between strangers, to strengthen current relationships, and to lower inhibitions so that creativity can freely work its magic when you get down to business. Start your conference, board meeting, school year, field trip or other event with ice breakers and watch good things happen.

Space Requirement: Participants must be able to move freely without danger of bumping in to obstacles, whether outdoors or indoors. As a general rule, everyone should be able to stick their arms out and turn in a circle without being able to touch anyone else. If you will be in a confined space please speak with our Lead Facilitator so that an exciting and safe program can be tailored for your needs. The great outdoors is a fantastic place to be and adds a little something extra to any team building experience, however, if you plan on having your team building program run outdoors, please have an indoor back-up space prepared in case of inclement weather.

This is hands-on fun and excitement with purpose! Build your communication, trust, problem-solving and leadership skills (many other themes are available upon request). Ice breakers start the program followed by tailored challenges with fun, out-of-the-ordinary tools that match the group's dynamics and help to make available the most opportunity for growth. Professional debriefs help participants to connect what they have learned to their immediate team context as well as to their outside lives whether in the workplace, at school, with family or in the community.

We recommend booking a minimum of 3 hours for your team building experience in order to get the most out of it. It is usually around the 2 hour mark that the team begins to build momentum and have more significant discoveries and it is a shame to cut that short. Because we believe in the power of team building so strongly we charge the same price for up to six hours of programming which does not include break times. That is 6 hours of hands-on team building action! If your schedule restricts you to a time period shorter than 3 hours please speak with our Lead Facilitator and we will tailor a program that still has kick and makes the most of the opportunity available.

Ideally there should be an open space in the classroom that all participants can stand in for the hands-on challenges, or there should be a smaller open space that is visible to the whole group where a hands-on demonstration could be done. The facilitator will be using a laptop and projector provided by Open Door Development. Please inform us if a screen is available. We will provide a portable screen if needed.

Appropriate for youth and adults, this training uses group discussion and hands-on challenges to help participants explore their current conflict resolution personalities and the strengths/weaknesses associated with them. Participants will also learn the five steps to resolving conflict in a healthy way, developing constructive problem-solving skills for complex real-life problems.

Through group discussion and hands-on challenges, individuals will explore their current conflict resolution personalities, learning the strengths/weaknesses associated with them, and explore the five-step model of working through conflict, learning how to apply the steps to complex, real-life scenarios.

Participants will also develop a deep back pocket of tools to help them address conflict at its roots, understanding the psychology of difficult personalities that have a tendency towards conflict, understanding generational conflict when conflict or its consequences have been inherited by people who were not involved in the original incident(s), and peer mediation skills to help others who are in conflict reach a healthy resolution.

This course empowers participants to recognize the signs of bullying and harassment, to address bullying behaviors in healthy and effective ways, and to create physically and emotionally safe environments that help to discourage bullying from happening in the first place. Bullying can happen to or between any age group; child, teen, adult and senior. Make your workplace, school, camp, youth group, group home, club, team or other organization a safe place where everyone can have a positive and constructive experience.

Participants will learn how to create bullying and harassment policies and create training curriculum that addresses the needs of your individual organization and programming.
