Foundational Principles We Focus On

PREVENTION: We help participants to trust themselves and their intuition, having the confidence to take action to prevent emergencies and stop injury and illness before they happen. Participants consistently report feeling less worry and more peace knowing they have the Power of Prevention!

COMMUNITY & TEAM: First aid is a team sport! Participants gain perspective about their value as they learn how to put themselves first in order to help others. Participants practice critical team skills that help them recruit team members, communicate important information clearly, creatively problem-solve with materials on hand, and take initiative when they see something that needs doing.

RECOVERY & GROWTH: We help participants understand the mental health journey they are navigating when they encounter intensely stressful situations which takes a lot of fear out of the process of recovery, especially for participants who have carried emotional burdens for a long time or been afraid there was something wrong with them. Where specific course content may be triggering due to past traumatic experiences, we adapt to participant needs and create physically and emotionally safe learning environments.
